King Octavian Ducksworth
The First Crown
He made a kingdom out of six arguments and a pond.
Octavian established the elder House of Ducksworth, long before the Seven Ponds were united. His first crown was a brass bread basket; official portraits improved it retrospectively. He insisted that monarchy required three things: a boundary, a ceremony, and somebody else to carry the boundary markers. His marriage to Marigold supplied the administrative competence missing from this theory.
The crown in the early portrait is cheaper than the frame. This is not an accident.
Compare each duck at the same life stage, not the same calendar date. Dates and ages appear with each portrait. These are fictional calendar seasons, not published story seasons.
