Octavian and Marigold’s son inherited the elder crown and a terrifying variety of local loaf sizes. His reign standardized the royal measure of bread, provoking a seventeen-season debate over crust. With Celestine, he raised two sons: the dutiful Aurelius Junior and the spectacularly unhurried Algernon. He lived to see his grandson become the unifier of the Seven Ponds.

His official measuring rod was later mistaken for a ceremonial weapon. It was more dangerous.
