I own lovely clothes and dishes but save them for special occasions. Nothing ever seems special enough.

Dear Keeper of Unused Splendor,
The records show that “someday” has not attended a single dinner. You, however, are regularly available.
Use one beautiful thing today. Wear the coat to buy bread. Eat Tuesday’s leftovers from the good plate. You need not stage a coronation to justify enjoying what belongs to you. The plate is not growing wiser in the cupboard.
