I sent a rude message, then blamed Mercury retrograde. My friend wants an apology. Can I explain that the timing was astrologically terrible?

Mercury is many things, but it did not unlock your phone, type the sentence, and press send with its tiny celestial thumb. A horoscope is not a character witness. Apologize before another planet has to retain counsel.
