My friend left her sourdough starter with me for a weekend and sent a three-page care guide. She is now extending her trip. Am I obligated to keep feeding it?

Tell her when you can stop caring for it, and ask her to arrange a pickup or another caretaker. You agreed to a weekend, not to raise a lineage. Be clear before the starter develops a stronger claim to your kitchen than you have.
I respect a disputed inheritance. I do not respect an inheritance that must be fed twice daily and stored beside the olives.
