The emotional support rent increase
Fictional launch letter
Dear Duck,
My landlord says the rent increase reflects the premium lifestyle of the building. The elevator has been broken for a month.

Dear Stair Enthusiast,
Ask for the explanation and maintenance timeline in writing, and check the actual lease and local tenant resources before deciding your next move. This goose is not your lawyer.
As a matter of language, “premium lifestyle” appears to mean that you are paying for a gym composed entirely of mandatory stairs. Request that they stop describing gravity as an amenity.
