Fictional launch letter
Dear Duck,
I want to invite friends over, but my house is not impressive enough and I am not a great cook. Should I wait?

Dear Unopened Front Door,
Invite people who like you, feed them something manageable, and provide somewhere to sit. Tell them what to bring if that helps.
The point is company, not a successful inspection by the Ministry of Soft Furnishings. I have eaten in palaces where every course arrived beneath silver and nobody appeared pleased to be alive. A warm room and an honest sandwich can outperform an entire dynasty.
